The Weekly Blog is
BACK!
WELCOME BACK if you have been in high ability before and WELCOME to all my new friends! Here is our weekly blog where you will get to "see" inside the classroom for the week. Every Friday, I will send an email letting you know when it is updated and ready to view.
Last year, the blog was highlighted as a district. This year you will have two options to stay up to date with the information from high ability. A S'more may be published as a district wide blog if important information is released that applies to all students in the district. CLICK HERE to read the first Smore that has great information explaining the high ability program.
Features of the Blog:
* Language Arts Area - separated by Grade
* Math Area - separated by Grade
* Calendar highlighting some important dates
The blog will be separated into language arts and math. I also highlight each grade with their own section. This is to help you quickly find your child's area and allow you to focus on that section of the blog.
Schedule for High Ability
Monday/Tuesday - Language Arts
Wednesday/Thursday - Math
No Groups on Friday
*Second Grade Math friends will meet on Wednesday/Friday.
Supplies
I will supply students their own baggy with their everyday class materials. This includes items like a pencil, dry-erase marker, highlighter and eraser. If they will need art supplies for a project or their iPad, I will give them advance notice to bring them to class.
Meet Ms. Losinski
I am excited to be beginning my 6th year as the High Ability Instructor at Yost Elementary School. This is my 11th year working in education.
I have two children and 1 puppy child. This year my oldest will be embarking on her senior year and my youngest is in 7th grade. My oldest keeps me running in all directions as a stage mom as her love is for the stage. She is currently preparing for her next role as Cinderella in Rodger's and Hammerstein's Version of Cinderella the Enchanted Version. She will keep me very busy this year as she has a dream to pursue musical theater further, so we will be enjoying the audition process with all her choices for college. FUN FACT about myself I am completely stage fright. You will never catch me in the spotlight! Bradyn is in love with all thing’s animals on the land and in the sea. He loves to just share his knowledge of animal facts. Something new he is tackling this year is he is growing as a musician himself. He has been learning to master the piano. I love to hear the music playing throughout the house as be practices his music. He is also turning into a chef as he loves creating food in the kitchen! FUN FACT I love to cook food, but I dislike doing the dishes! For
fun, we love family game nights and movie nights. Family game nights can
get competitive in our house, but it is always a night full of laughter!
I grew up in the volleyball gym and coaching for over 10 years.
Another FUN FACT - I am a Disney Fanatic! Our family has
grown up on a love of Disney! So much so, I have become a Disney Travel
Planning Expert since 2015. I took my love of Disney and turned it into a
business because of how much I love to just plan the magic. Most of my
current students know that I am a White Sox Fan, as most of my students have
let me know they are Cub fans! We always enjoy the rivalry in my
classroom at the beginning of the year. Most of my students tend to join
the same side for football season - Go Bears! However, we have some fun
in the winter with a few Packers fans and other teams.
My goal is to create a fun learning environment where the students enjoy exploring and sharing their thoughts and ideas. I am looking forward to a great school year and I cannot wait to get started on Monday!!
